What does a gas safety check cover?
Every gas appliance you provide, the flues and the pipework: a tightness test, operating pressures, ventilation, flue flow and the safety devices on each appliance. Tenants’ own appliances are not included, but their flues are.
Can my tenant arrange the check instead of me?
The legal duty is the landlord’s. A tenant or agent can let us in, but the certificate is issued to you and it is your responsibility to give them a copy.
What happens if an appliance fails?
We tell you exactly what failed and why. If it is unsafe we isolate it, because we have to, and we give you a clear price to repair or replace it so the property is compliant again.
